KIDS SHOES

MEASURING TIPS

  • There is no differentiation in gender when it comes to kids shoe sizing (Boys + Girls sizes are the same)
  • Sizes with 'C' refer to children's sizes. Sizes with 'Y' or 'J' refer to youth/junior sizes
  • When in doubt, size up! (Unless individual product specifies otherwise)
  • It is recommended for children's shoes to have an additional ¾" - 1" space for feet to move/grow comfortably
  • Printable Size Guide - Kids Shoes: Download
  • The size charts below are a general outline to follow for kids shoe measurements. Refer to specific product size charts first.
  • The length given is the length of a child's foot, not of the shoe. Check the size charts provided on individual product for the specific shoe sizing
  • Kids feet grow rapidly (up to an inch a year – which equals two shoe sizes) and growth is very individual. Prefabricated shoe size charts don't necessarily match the development curve of every child's foot!

CHECKING FOR SHOE COMFORT / FIT

Have your child stand with their weight distributed evenly on both feet. To check length, make sure you can press your thumb between the longest toe and the end of the shoe. Children need about ½" of space for the toes to move freely. Next, check that your pinkie can fits snugly between the heel and back of the shoe. To check width, make sure you can grasp some material at the widest part of the foot. Ideally, you should test shoes later in the day, since children's feet swell over the course of the day.
